Awakening instincts I should fear

 

 

The demon within, the darkness inside

Undeniable cruel truth I can't hide

In others' pain I find a thrill

An unexplained pleasure against my will

But with the will to choose my way

I'll walk a better path each day

Moving toward the light, I'll stay

 

 

Submitting to authority's call

Like Milgram's cruel experiment

Swept by collective madness all

My conscience sold, my morals bent

 

The wounds received in childhood days

Take root as trauma deep and strong

From victim to perpetrator's ways

The cycle of evil carries on

Dehumanization's wicked trap

But when I face this darkness free

And confront demons in my lap

 

True courage starts to grow within

A chance for growth begins to show

Imperfect humans though we've been

Light and darkness both we know

 

 

With will to choose I'll find my way

Walking paths that lead to light

The cruelty within may stay

But growth comes from this inner fight

 

Not denying darkness there

Not surrendering to its call

Accepting my complete soul's care

Moving toward light through it all
